It's not as critical as the absorption ones used in RV's. I suppose there's a limit but I've never seen it.

Hi Ho: RR doesn't have to be level, but you do. Unless you can lean to one side and don't mind the eggs being on one side of the pan. We don't usually level unless the site is really out (more than 3 or 4 inches) or we are staying a long time.
No, but it is nice to be close. Res reefers have compressors to move cooling fluids and gases. The propane systems rely on gravity and heat, so they are sensitive to a level setup.
