Roof chalking
2010 Tiffin Phaeton. Any ideas in how to stop roof chalking? What's the best treatment? How often does treatment need to be done?

sorry but this is a lost cause - requires continual cleaning or you can ignore it like I do. Dave

Some folks put 303 on it, others wax it, some actually paint theirs. I have read where some put floor polish on it....
Me....I'm just too lazy to do that, I wash it when I wash the MH, roof being first, any chalking then comes off when the Mh is washed. So far so good but there will come a time when I will have to seal it.

Keep it clean, wash and wax. I use Nu Finish polymer wax twice a year and never had chalking problem with any motorhome I've owned.

I have used wax but was hoping it would last longer, mop & glow seemed to last just as long & a lot easier.

It is designed to do that. The reason is this.. Painted surfaces get dirty, the chalking is how it "Self Cleans".. This is why if you accidentally brush up against your house you get White all over your cloths.
Alas, I know it is annoying, but it's by design. And for good reason.

Easy Al, just trade motor homes every 6 months for a new one and then no worries! Hope you are enjoying Mesa.

Mix your wash water and soap also all 1 cup white vinegar.
Scrub top. Will clean off old chalking. Let dry then wipe with wet sponge using ZEP High Traffic floor wax.
This works great. White vinegar does the trick.

That sure does look nice, so I take it that roof is not wet?
