Does anyone have thoughts on an RV cover for the South Florida sun?

Definitely have to get a cover that lets air "circulate". Most important for that climate. I had a unit in Spring Hill for a couple years and went with a cheap cover that had no vents. Ended up with mildew on the outside and inside of the coach. Ended up going with ADCO for the best result

only makes sense to me...the summer UV is strong..V destroys paint, weatherstripping, rubber parts. I keep mine covered in the late fall thru early spring

If you get a cover, make sure you get a quality one that fits right. I covered a car I had in storage for a few months in Florida to protect it from the sun but the rain and the wind on the cover really damaged the paint. You can get similar damage from having a bra on the front - when they get wet, you kind of have to take it off to let it dry otherwise the paint under it can get really hot and damaged.

I would never use an RV cover.
To much chance for damage to the paint from it flapping in the wind.
I WOULD wax it and keep it clean.
Just my 2 bits.

I have a 2008 coach I bought new in June of 07 and it stays covered maybe 905 of the time when I am not going to use it for 2-3 week or more and have never had any damage of anykind. The only thing I can tell is that my paint looks fresh, decals look new, seals etc have no UV damage and the rear engine antifreeze tank that fails so often on Freightliners is also like new. I have however had to buy 2 covers during that time that finally give up to UV damage that wold have otherwise been on the coach if it were not covered.

What's the brand of the cover you finally went with for the UV protection?

IMO the minimum storage cover should be a RV sized carport type structure.

I covered my 5th wheel when we owned it and had mixed results with a small amount of damage due to the cover moving around in the wind. I now rent an enclosed storage space and am much happier (excluding the cost) However I believe that the brand that you can buy at Campers World is better than using a tarp as they breath, and trapped moisture is much more damaging than the sun. The sun and freezing and thawing water is bad as well. One of the problems is to put the cover on requires you to get on the roof and any small breeze while you are putting it on is dangerous. What you may find is after putting it on a few times that you soon will bypass doing it if you expect to use the RV within a short time. Putting it on for long term storage and leaving it there may be OK but then you need to learn how to attach it to stop the damage from the wind. It is a learning process. The wind can also damage the cover with sharp corners somewhere on the RV as well. We always got about 4 seasons from our covers with small repairs each season needed. Then bought new.
