Off Topic

You referred to the Progressive Surge Protector and the software inserted an ad for Progressive Insurance! Just how invasive is the site getting?

Back to one of the main topics - we have hardware installed Progressive Industries Protection and it has saved our electronics from high voltage, low voltage and open ground at various times. I would not be happy without it.

Well- this thread was started way back then. Has Tiffin solved the problems with the 36? It has been completely redesigned by now.

What problems? Best coach I have ever owned. Back to the dealer for 3 small items under warranty 2 years ago and Tiffin replaced the dinette cushions because of inferior material used by the outside supplier. And I may add, it was after the warranty expired with no questions asked. Great coach and great company.

You obviously didn't read the entire thing in detail. Many of the initial problems were caused by a lightning strike (finely admitted by the owner well into the thread) and the owners failure to add surge protection and notify Tiffin of what happened (the lightning strike). Repairs proceeded one part at a time (as they failed) and multiple trips to Red Bay.

So, what problems with the 36? The 36 continues to be one of Tiffin's more popular gas engine models (probably overtaken by the 31SA which is smaller version of the same floorplan) with new features and options added every year.

We have owned ours since March 2012, problems? none to speak of, very good floorplan. Now they have added some new features which are nice, but not enough for us to move up to a newer model.

31sa and 36la are not nearly the same floor plan. Many 36la options are not available on 31sa. Bath and a half of 36la is a major floor plan difference.

Yes- saw the 36la at the big Ft. Worth RV show this weekend. I don't know of any other gas coach with bath and half? Wonderful plan. But will that engine perform in the mountains???

Been east coast to west coast 3 times. Highways 80, 40, 20, 10. Up and down the hills just as slowly as the rest of them.
I've dropped to 45 mph or so on steeper grades but I'm never alone! Seriously, I think my 2012 performs well.

Don't believe everything you read here

I notice one nice person said something to the effect that my problems were my fault for not reporting a lightning strike. Well I just reread everything that was posted on this site and the only mention of a lightning strike was made by the person responding to my words. Not once did I say anything about one. You can see his post on page 6. Maybe he should go back and read what was said. Had trouble once before with him.

Grizz, glad to hear you and your mh are feeling better. And yes, some people on here are more antagonistic than helpful, and seem to work at it. Brings out the worst in me at times. No matter, this site has been worth it's weight in gold to me, and like they say, you take the good with the bad in this life!

Almost every manufacturer has at least one gas class A model with a Bath & a half ( 2 toilets) floor plan. We had a 2003 Newmar Kountry Star 3740, so they have been around since at least then-probably longer. Our signature coach is our second bath & a half.

Once you have 2 toilets, its hard to go back to just one....
