can somone tell me how to get the sanitizing solution into my fresh water tank . my old coach had a external fill outlet, but my phaeton does not.

You could pour the bleach ( 1/4 cup for every 15 gallons is what I use ) into your water hose and then hook it up to your coach and turn on the water and it will go into your tank if the valve is so positioned.

PS

hopefully another Tiffin owner will pop in hear cause I find it hard to believe that you don't have a water fill.

clifftall, are you sure it's 1/4 ounce per 15 gallons? I think it's 1/4 cup per 15 gallons.

We still have a fresh water fill on our 2005, but newer Tiffins don't.

If I didn't have a fresh water fill, I would use clifftall's method of adding bleach directly to my fresh water hose. However, another method is to make a dispenser from larger diameter (2" or so) PVC pipe. You can calculate the length of pipe you need according to the size of your fresh water tank. Each end of the pipe would need to have reducers to take the pipe down to the size of hose connection adapters. With a hose, attach one end of the pipe to your fresh water inlet. Pour bleach solution into the other end of the pipe, attach another hose to the other end of the PVC pipe, and then attach to the spigot. Fill your tank.

I have a pickup hose I connect to the inlet side of the water pump and place it in a 5 gallon bucket containing the bleach solution. Then I connect the pump outlet hose to the water fill inlet using a single fitting. Turn on the water pump and watch the solution travel into the tank. Works really good.

I use an empty housing that came from an external water filter. I run a filter and water hose from the faucet, then connect the external housing and fill with the correct amount of bleach, then run a second water hose from the bleach/housing to the water inlet on the RV. Works well and it's simple to store in a compartment. This keeps it available if I need to sanitize the water system while away from home.
