satellite

I recently purchased a 2009 Allegro Open Road, that came with a King Dome satellite system. I have been a dish network customer for many years. I understand that I should be able to take one of my receivers from home, pulg into the MH and receive service. Sounds good!! But I keep getting a error, with no service. I called Dish Network, but they have not been able to help me. They want me call someone they recommend to find the problem and repair it. Any one have any recommendations?

Seems to me that King domes are programmed for one service or the other. You need to find out what you have before you use the check book method. It could get quite expensive. In order to get a HD signal with a dome your rig has to be level because your rig level is the skew position. Search this forum for more information. Consider ditching the dome and getting a traveler.

First off is the King Dome set for dish or direct? Second if you go to point dish and signal in your reciever settings 6 1 1 will get you there after pushing menu. Go to Check Switch and see what it says it should read SW64 if it does then you are either obstructed or not set for Dish network on the Kingdome. I attached a copy of the 9704 manual which will give you programing info for most of the setups.

Oh and there is no skew on a dome antenna it repositions for ea sat as needed. you don't need a travl'r for Dish network but you do gain some features with the Travl'r that you can't get with the kingdome. But you can drive off with the Kingdome on and working if it is in motion and that trick never works with a Travl'r LOL.
