Sealing My Phaeton 36gh Roof

Hi Folks,

Should I roll a sealant on my roof? I always have white streaks rolling down the sides when I am parked for a while. If I should use a sealant what should I use? Your advice is greatly appreciated

I washed and waxed my roof 4 years ago using PORTER-CABLE 7424XP 6-Inch Variable-Speed Polisher, looks like this coming spring I will need to do it again. Starting to get the white streaks from the fiberglass roof I wash it every spring.

might try mop-glow for a temp fix. clean roof and then cover with mop-glow with no rinse required. I had someone do this for me last month and it seems to be helping. Dave

I had the same problem and here is what I did. First I cleaned the roof (car wash soap). Then I sanded it with an orbital sander with 120 paper. Then I applied 2 coats of Rust oleum Topside marine paint (gloss white). It took a quart and half per coat. You can order it through a True Value Store, and they will ship it for free. It does take a little time , but I am happy with the results--mainly no streaks.

What year is your coach? Most Tiffins built in the last 10-15 years have a fiberglass roof and this really doesn't need any maintenance. If you think it will help, you can wax the roof but things like Mop'n Glo are worthless as they contain no UV protectants. Other sealers are made for rubber roofs and you sure don't want to use those.

White streaks are easier to remove than messing with your roof anyway.
