Seamless slides
I was looking at Tiffins, and I saw the newer seamless slides. I like the idea, and they looked great on the new units. However, I saw a use one that had pits/chunks missing from the edge where there is normally a metal L bracket. Is this common, or a fluke?

I would say that's a fluke or previous owner's goof. Ours has 19,000+ miles on it now and there are no flakes, chipping, warping, etc of the seamless slides. After having them, I don't think I would ever settle for anything else since it's impossible for them to leak or separate. The smooth exterior without the "frame" around the edges is super nice.

X2. I second that. It has been added to our list of must haves' if we get another coach.

Ummm.. seamless slide?
Is this concerning not having an "over lap" seal on the out side or what??
This is our "flush fit" exterior slide.. Uses an air bldder to seal when retracted or extended..

Tiffin seamless slides are overlapping and not flush like Foretravel. Foretravel’s are nice but a neighbor has one and had to replace the inflatable seal. He groaned about that for awhile.

Yup ... Had to replace ours $3,000 @ HWH, Moscow, IA.....1st one lasted 15 years of use..so 3 grand every 15 years ain't gonna break the bank.. I mean it is something like 5 to 7 fuel fill ups..

Here's a closeup photo of the slides which I actually took because of the Colorado sunset reflection. They overlap with seals on the inside edges and are not flush mount like the Foretravel or Newell slides. They are one complete shell of fiberglass top bottom and sides with no seams.

Good to know. Just out of curiosity, what is the cargo capacity of your coach?

The 2018 45OPP has 165cu ft (Freightliner) Powerglide has 175cu ft downstairs. The 2019 is bigger. It has 237cu ft, as does the 45MP. The 40ft Bus' have 229cu ft for 2019, and the 37ft Bus has 180, all Powerglide.
The 45OPP and MP Powerglide with the 605hp has 257cu ft according to the brochure if I read it all correctly.

I think the new Tiffin slide box seamless design is brilliant.

I was just checking the 2019 Phaeton brochure, which may differ from Lt Dan's coach. The 37ft coach has 122cu ft basement storage.....the 40AH, 40QBH, and 40QKH have 157cu ft, the 40IH has 232cu ft. The 44OH has a whopping 253cu ft, all appearing to be on both chassis options.

The difference is only the 40IH and 44OH are on the Power Glide chassis with the 7" taller storage bays. All other Phaeton are on the Freightliner chassis.
