Serious about becoming a Tiffin owner.

We are currently looking at a 2007 Allegro Bus 42QDP w 22,000 miles. We would greatly appreciate any hints of what to look for. It does have the Norcold fridge and propane stove. I called Tiffin services & Freightliner. No issues that they could report. Freightliner says that this one does not have a PTO for the fan. Any suggestions to look closely at tomorrow while test driving? This is our first Class A, so I'm a lot nervous. Thanks for your help & support.
Tim

What you really want is a copy of the service records for the vehicle. Make sure the oil, fuel, and air filters have been changed on schedule. On the HydroHot, make sure it has been serviced. Once a year is recommended.

Check the chassis and engine batteries. Find out if they have been changed since the coach was purchased.

Tires are due for replacement if they are original to the coach.

On the house side, check the wet bay floor for any sagging or rot. If it looks flat, try poking a screwdriver in it. Same thing for the driver's side main slide. These items may be covered under a Tiffin extended warranty. You can call Tiffin with the VIN number and see if the coach has ever been in for repairs. I don't believe 2007 models had issues with roof rails, but ask Tiffin about that as well.

From the posts on this forum I'd say buying a used unit is better than ordering a new one. With 22,000 miles on it hopefully all of the major bugs have been taken care of. RV's all need repairs from time to time. Never run tires over 5 or 6 years old. Good Luck, Dave
