Sight Unseen Used Tiffin @ Sherman?

Would you buy a used coach from Sherman sight-unseen? Assuming as much due diligence is done as possible on my part through pics, videos, documentation, etc. In end a lot of trust would have to be placed on salesperson and Sherman for sure. Buy contingent on our personal inspection.

Thoughts? Thanks.

If you can afford an RV, you should probably take $1000 and at a minimum buy a one day round trip plane ticket and go see it first.
I have stated in other posts on this site that I had 2 separate $500 deposits, on 2 NEW Tiffins, on 2 different RV lots, about 5 months ago and walked away from both! One was un-seen on a LaMesa lot from San Diego that they shipped in. The other was on a lot 2 hours away before so I put the deposit till I could drive down on a Saturday.

If you can put a deposit down and then walk away if you don't like it... fine.
If you are under a full contract first... go see it before you sign or pay.

Let me start by saying Sherman is a good dealership to work with. We bought our 2018 RED 37PA from them (Andy) last year and very happy with the experience.

Having said that I would leave a refundable deposit and go see the rig first. I would do this no matter who we were purchasing a rig from. In fact we did this twice on he purchase of our first rig a few years ago and walked from both deals when seeing the rigs.

Good luck

Do the deal. Place a refundable deposit with final sale contingent on your inspection(s). Optionally you could hire your own private inspector to review the coach before you travel. Then renegotiate, if need be, based upon inspection findings.

Agree with others. Make a refundable deposit based on inspection. I would pay a private certified inspector vs accept the dealers inspection, no matter how good the dealer is.

We flew to Phoenix to see our coach, liked it, and did as I stated above. We bought from a private individual but, to me, the process would be the same.

I would NEVER buy a coach sight unseen.

I would however wish you the best of luck should you decide to make the purchase....

Picked up our Bus at Sherman. It was everything that Carol Koon said it was on inspection. Wouldn't buy from any other dealer.

I guess “buying” sight unseen isn’t exactly correct. I would think I’d agree on a price, make a deposit, with understanding final sale is contingent on my getting there and seeing it. A pre inspection by a qualified person would be ideal.

Thanks.

A year and a half ago, I would have said "NO WAY". Then I found the exact coach we were looking for at a dealership over 1000 miles away. I contacted the salesman, had a lengthy conversation, put a $1000 refundable deposit on it, and headed out. When we arrived, we found it was exactly what the salesman said plus more, so we completed the purchase. We love the coach.

Having purchased many used vehicles and other items over the years, I have learned to ask lots of questions, listen carefully to the seller, evaluate the pros and cons, then trust my gut.

Good luck on your quest.

Which coach, I have been in Sherman twice in the last week and walked through most everything on the lot. You have. Nothing to be apprehensive about that dealership.
