Sink Drain Assembly

The sink drain in the kitchen was leaking,,,,removed the drain and it was cracked (plastic).

Tried to locate one locally, no luck.

Called Tiffin Friday about 2 eastern time,,,,,they got me one out the same day. $5.34 plus postage. It should arrive Monday or Tuesday

Good deal! Let us know how the repair turns out. Having loose J traps are something that folks often overlook and they just seem to work their way loose after a while.

We have a number of Mobil Home parts stores around here. Maybe this would also be a place to look if you had one of those locally.

All of the sink drains and traps that I've seen on RV's are the same as can be found at any big box store. Many have permanently fixed components, solid assembly, to minimize the problems of loosening over time while driving. But you could assemble one that is made with several components and glue it up with PVC cement to make it tight forever. If you need to remove later, it can be cut out easily and replaced.

Yeah...I was under the impression I could go to Home Depot or Lowes to fix a sink leak...definitely didnt think I'd have to call RB or any specialty RV place...Am I mistaken

ZephyrKnight, a lot of plumbing items can be found at the big box stores: traps, fittings, shower valves, faucets, etc. Same for the 120 volt electric systems. I would take my part to the store to check it for fit before purchase.

Well I feel better, because when things go wrong, I look for a local (common) fix first from the big box stores before I go to RB...or RV specialty stores.

No problem Zeph.

I did stop at a local RV kind of place, house, store, etc......No customer service,,,,,did not have an interest in checking on the part for me, or offer to check catalogue, etc.....just said, nope, don't have it,,,,,turned left,,,,,,and,,,,,

Came home called Tiffin, within 5 minutes had the order placed,,,,still had plenty of time to hit the beach......

I'm just glad Tiffin is available when they are needed.........I don't have to rely on bad service, poor service, non-interested service,,,,,They are only a phone call away,,,,,,during working hours, of course...

Happy Highways
