Skylight cracks
Today, while winterizing our Allegro 31DA motorhome, I discovered cracks in the exterior skylight that is located over the shower. The skylight was replaced by me, a little over three years ago due to cracking of the original skylight. I used an OEM skylight obtained from Tiffin for the replacement. Does anyone have a source for a skylight made from a different material that would last a little longer than the two that I have gone through? Or am I doomed to replace it with the OEM part every three years? The present cracks do not originate from the screw holes around the perimeter as the original did, but are located at the bottom of the corners where the sides of the skylight meet. To allow for movement, when I replaced the original skylight, I installed it in a bed of Dicor sealant, and only used three to four very slightly tightened screws per side. It is just a rectangular size, not an odd shape. I am hoping maybe someone has a source for a skylight made from a tougher material than that used in the OEM part, perhaps Lexan or something similar.
Thanks for any info
