Unhappy Slide Retract Issues

2004 Allegro Bay db workhorse chassis/gas engine. Slide would not retract and did it manually. Arrrgggg! Wall switch created clicking sound in front right exterior electrical panel. A loose cotter pin bolt had lost its nut and the bolt stopped the slide from retracting thus triggering a safety circuit breaker...somewhere and I am unable to locate the breaker to reset it. Anyone have any ideas?

P.S. Hand cranked the square shaft under the slide with a crescent wrench as there was not any other means to do so. No "bolts" on either end of the long shaft to assist. Ideas?

Had some of the same issues, the slide motor is too small for the size of the slide, too much weight. The electric motor has a lock/unlock switch on the side of the motor, this keeps the slide stuck in any position for safety reasons. Electric brake is always on until you flick the switch on the motor to unlock it, "cutting it's power". Then the slide will move freely either way so be careful. You really need good amps the drive that undersized motor, and get rid of weight in the basement to, only keep light stuff in there now. Mine works, but it struggles even with good amps. Also think my motor has a dead spot in the armature, that is a fun moment. They have since upgraded that motor, just haven't gotten around to it yet.Check the motor part number, bet it has been replaced with different motor.
Also check your alignment now that that pin came out.

I had a similar issue with my 2007 Open Road. After showing the coach to the neighbors children I hit the switch to close the large slide and heard a click under the slide. Keep in mind this is at night. I go under the slide, with a flashlight and have my wife hit the switch. I then find there is a missing tooth on the rear slide gear. After several in and out try's and me pushing, I finally get the [street side] slide closed. The next day I call Tiffin and speak to a very helpful gentlemen in the parts department who listened to my problem and emailed me a schematic for my slide closing system. From that I was able to order the gear, pins and screws to fix the problem [myself]. Total cost was less than $20.00, including 3 day shipping. Total repair time, 45 minutes. That was nearly 2 years ago and I've had no problems since.
