Steering Stabilizer

About to embark on a cross-country trip in '06 Tiffin Phaeton and are interested in installing a steering stabilizer to help with safety (blow-outs) and wind issues. Anybody out there have any advice or experience on specific brands ? Have heard some positive chatter on both Blu Ox and Tru Center. Blu Ox appears to have a dash mounted recentering feature that doesn't seem to be available for Tru Center. Feedback and advice appreciated.

I have had the Safe T Plus on both of my DP's. Great product with great support. They are standard on many 18 wheelers.

I installed Steer Safe. For about $400 it a great investment. I'm very happy with it.

I read somewhere that Tiffin would install the Safe-T-Plus if asked to when the motorhome is being built free of charge. I mentioned this to my salesman and his comment was I had to communicate directly with Tiffin concerning this.

Is this true?

Welcome to the forum.

I've had Safe T Plus on my rig for over five years and love it.

I think you might be confused a bit about the SS you mentioned. Blue Ox makes Tru Center and it's main feature is the "adjust of the fly" capability. It's also available with the STP, but it's an after market add on trim kit.

When I had my STP installed, Blue Ox was having a lot of trouble with the quality of their Tru Center but by all accounts these have been fixed and it seems to me that the Tru Center is now probably the preferred unit by most members.

Feel free to use our search feature and you'll find a ton of reading material on the subject.

Best of luck.

Rick

You are correct. Should have reviewed my post before sending. I was referring to the Safe T Plus and the Blue Ox - TruCenter.
