Steering System Enhancements
Purchased a new 2018 Tiffin Open Road 34PA with Suma Springs option. We are loving the new rig. Drives much better than our 2013 Tiffin, however, still considering adding a steering stabilizer system. I've seen web pages for Safe-T-Plus, TruCenter, and Steer Safe. There are probably others as well. Looking for recommendations and experiences.
Thanks

Haven't used any of them. Don't see a need for one on my 36LA Tiffin.

We installed a Steer Safe on our Phaeton but only as added protection in case of a front tire blow out. Didn't need it for handling. Seemed less intrusive than the other types.

I've had a safe-t-plus for a few years now. At Tiffin rally in June at Lewisburg, WV, I listened to vendor and saw film about Blue-Ox True center and still think safe-t-plus is best. Dave

I have the Tru control on our Phaeton and had one on our F53 chassis as well. I like the feature of being able to adjust the Center position , comes in handy on windy days. I did have send the one we have now back for rebuild. The solenoid quit, most likely due to moisture intrusion. When I got it back, I made sure the control box was sealed well. Of course the unit warranty had expired so it was costly to send it back and have it repaired, but all in all I am happy with the unit.

Lou, before adding the steering stabilizer I would recommend having your front sway bars reconfigured to the 2nd hole instead of the 1st. I added the steering stabilizer to my previous MH and was still dissatisfied until I had the sway bars adjusted. Man what a difference. I just had it done to my (new to me) 2016 32SA and the steering and sway has been dramatically improved. Enjoy the road!

I installed the Roadmaster stabilizer and like it a lot. Agree with the recommendation to do the CHF on front/back sway bars, another great improvement and free.

I had the Safe T Plus installed more for safety in case of a blow out. It gives you a little more help in control.

We had Safe-T-Plus installed for safety, but did notice a nice improvement in handling. From what I've read it seems everyone is happy with the steering stablizer they purchased.

Wow, Thanks to all for your quick responses. I think I'll go for the Safe-T-Plus and adjusting the sway bars.
Happy motoring!

Lou, if you have someone install it make sure they get the correct one for your MH. You can go to the Safe-T-Plus web site and see what color stabilizer you need.
The different colors denote the resistance needed for your HM's length.
I think you'll be happy with it.
Dave
