I found a solution to a problem I had which may help someone else. I bought a sunscreen, (20 x 7) to attach to my awning. I works great except it has to be treaded into roller (using a ladder) and must be taken out of roller when moving, since is to much material to roll up with awning, then up on ladder again to retread when I get parked. I had the top 2 feet cut off and both pieces seamed and snaps put on. Now I treaded the 2 feet into roller (which will roll up with my awning) and I stand on groung and snap the other 5 feet onto and all is well. I love it. No more removeing whole thing and dragging out the ladder.

Bob, now that's a clever solution I had not thought of.

DW had her eye on the new Bus shades and prodded me to come up with a workable add-on for our patio awning. I did not like the idea of continually threading some twenty feet of material onto the roller either.

[24" of fabric on the roller and the snap fasteners for the additional fabric.] Better than any scheme I've come-up with to date.

I bought something similar at the Hershey Show last year from (I think) RVMats.com. It's 24" of material slipped into the roller, then has stainless grommets. The rest of the shade has stainless clips that hook to the grommets. More often than not, I like just having the 24" for the added shade. Nice going!
