My husband has a concern about the need to buy a surge protector for our 2007 Phaeton..
Is it necessary to purchase this for our coach or does it have the device built into it?

I put a Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C in mine and have been pleased. It diagnosed an open phase and also low line voltage and dropped the coach right off. No way to know if either of those conditions would have harmed something, but it never got a chance to do any damage.

Good insurance, as we also boondock and camp at many out of the way places that could easily have questionable power. If you go from RV Resort to RV Resort, your priorities may be different.
