We have a Blue Ox TruCenter on our Allegro Bay on a Workhorse chassis, and it helps with stability in the wind. The TruCenter allows the driver to set a new center position for the steering with the press of a button. This eliminates constant correction that is necessary because of tendency of the vehicle to be pushed to one side when driving in a cross wind or on a steeply crowned road. The TruCenter does help some with gusts because it also helps resist sudden side movement of the vehicle, but high profile vehicles like motorhomes tend to get pushed around fairly easily by wind gusts or by passing trucks, so it isn't a cure-all.

thanks Paz !! does it work well enough to warrant the cost compared to other "hydraulic" type stabilizers ?

Safe-T-Plus on my 2004 Allegro Bay. Had one on my Winnebago Superchief. Both I installed myself.
Does an excellent job & big bonus is the safety factor in case of a front tire blowout. Both TruCenter & this one will give you that added margin of safety until you can get a safe place to pull over to side of the road.
Safe-T-Plus for my W22 was the "Blue" housing model. Could not see any rational to opt for the TruCenter at a higher cost. Did not see any benefit to re-adjust setting. Even on deep rutted conditions, very high winds & high crowned roadways...mine is still good w/o adjustment... Must be some reason; but I have yet to find an occasion in some 8 yrs. of useage.

Our TruCenter came as an option from the factory. Our unit was recalled a few years ago, so we actually drove the motorhome for almost a year without the TruCenter which gave me a chance to compare driving with and without it. Our coach doesn't have a lot of problems with wind gusts either way. Although I like having the TruCenter (it is also supposed to be very helpful in the event of a blowout - a feature I hope to never get to test), I don't know if I would go to the expense of adding one if I had to do it again. The price after the redesign following the recall is a LOT more than it was when we ordered ours as an option.

I went with the True center as well.. At the time it was the only one where I could "re-center" it "on the fly" as it were (Without using wrenches and hammer) from the driver's seat. Today I believe that's an option on the Safe-T-Steer as well.
Very nice, I've driven with and without it.. Like WITH much better.
