I am wondering if anyone knows where the Cable Jack located in power bay goes. I can't seem to find the other end. The tripod jack that is next to it is ok. I am also trying to see if I can get behind the wall that the jack is located to see if any coax is actually hooked up. If someone knows what I should do,please get in touch with me. Thanks again.

In my 2010 RED, it goes to the three TVs but I am not exactly how it is wired. When connected to a cable system, you turn off the antenna preamplifier (located in the compartment to the right of the front TV) by pressing a button on a wall jack that causes a green LED to go off. After you do this, the connector in the Electrical bay is connected to the TVs. Merely set the TVs on cable mode and scan for the channels. The second connector in the electrical bay labeled Tripod goes to the entertainment enclosure over the passenger seat and is for use with an external satellite dish of you have one.

I hope this helps.

Question: Describe your antenna switch.. I'll give you two choices to pick from

1: Wall plate, it has a button, a light, a 12 volt outlet and an antenna conneciton, Normally near main TV or TV nearest antenna.

2: Box of many buttons.

Answers:
On the box of many buttons, on the back is a jack labeled CABLE.. That's where it goes

on the wall plate, looking at the rear, with the cables coming off going DOWN

Ant, Cable, TV-2, and in some cases (Optional) TV-3

NOTE it is often disconnected when you put in sat and the TV-OUT from teh sat connected to that port.

Unless, of course, they wired it by may suggestions, in which case it runs to the back of the SAT receiver and is ued in place of ANT-IN Not many wired that way.

There are so many different cable systems around, you can never be sure what you'll get. The question to ask the CG folks is whether the signal at each slot is NTSC Analog, the equivalent over-the-air digital or some cable company's own digital.

The CG may not have researched the cable companies adequately. At home we have Comcast, and with their proprietary digitisation, you need a set-top box for each TV set, as channel switching is done by the Comcast box.

We've had snowy picture and rotten sound when we tried cable on one occasion last season. We gave up on it until the off-season, at which time I tried feeding a VCR signal into the cable socket and found the TV sound and picture were just as bad as at the CG.

The TV was fine when I fed the signal in other places, so I concluded there was a fault in the wiring between the inoput in the power bay and the distrbution box in the front overhead.

I've since removed the TV in the bedroom (we don't have one at home so we don't need one in the MH!). I then hooked up a new coax cable from the socket in the power bay and connected it to the cable that fed the bedroom TV. I plugged the front end "TV2" plug into the "cable" socket on the distribution box and now get good picture and sound on the main TV.

Haven't tried actual cable anyplace yet, but I'm fairly sure it will work if the signal at the CG is NTSC analog. Can't use the antenna yet, as we haven't got a converter box for o-t-a digital. That's the next project.

Too bad I can't read all the forums all the time. I figured out my cable problem after reading a post on another forum.....too bad it wasn't in the coach documentation.

I needed to turn off the amplifier on the over-the-air antenna. Once off, the cable magically cleared up. I've had the 2011 40' Phaeton QTH for 8 months and I finally can actually watch a cable feed. This instruction (turn off the antanna) is not in any of the documentation that came with my coach. I suspect there are others that have a similar problem.

That's correct! The cable runs to the back of the antenna amplifier switch. When the amplifier is switched on it sends a preamp signal to the off-air antenna. When the amplifier switch is off it shuts off ther amplifier. But, at the wsame time it switches from the off-air antenna to the CATV input. Both the antenna and CATV cable are both connected to this switch so it performs both functions.
