This is my first post - been a lurker for many years as we have tried to figure out this lifestyle and see what kind of unit we want. Spent hundreds of hours visiting showrooms, RV shows and rallys. Lurked in various forums and followed several travel blogs. Have found a wonderful looking Tiffin Phaeton 42QRH (2007) that seems to have been maintained very wonderfully. Hope to go down, look it over, have it inspected, take a drive and spend a day or two in it before signing the deal. Does anyone know of any issues with this model? I have been searching and have not found anything on various forums. The Tiffin name speaks for itself.

Man, are we scared, nervous, excited... scared!!!
Thanks,
Brett

Good luck Brett!
The Pheaton is an Awesome coach .....That's a good choice. They are actually the number one coach sold out of the top ten listed.

Well I messed up my first post! Meant to post to the Tiffin Users forum - instead put it out on general RV forum. So will repost here for the experts!

Hey Brett we just purchased a 2008 42QRH and love it. It is an awesome coach. Make sure to post some pics of it in the new rig showoff forum so we can all get a look at it.

Good Luck.

Brett,

Be sure to let us know when you buy the coach. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with it. Tiffin rigs in general are great motorhomes and the Phaeton is the number 1 selling pusher on the market.

Well, we did it!! Went down to Florida, looked it over, had it inspected, drove it around and signed the deal!! It is a beauty!! Phaeton, 42 QRH, with a 350 Cummins engine on a Spartan chasis. Drove it home to SC over a three day period. First day was only two hours - don't think my nerves could take too much more! I-95 around Brunswick GA was a mess - definitely white knuckle time there. Got it stocked up and heading up to New Bern this weekend to visit (OK show off the new toy!) to our daughter. Thanks for the feedback earlier. I am sure I will have a ton of questions before this goes much further.

Brett
P.S. If I have done this right, I have attached a picture.

Depends on what you mean by "better".

The Bus is a higher end coach, has IFS, larger engine, side radiator, etc but the Phaeton is a very good coach in it's own right. As far as sales figures go - the Phaeton is the #1 selling diesel pusher in the country. The Allegro Bus moved up to being the second most popular diesel pusher (from fourth the previous year).

So, from a popularity viewpoint, the Phaeton is "better" . It's one of the best values out there and many RVers recognize that and buy accordingly.
