Question Tiffin Allegro 31SA T shaped couch rubbing

Our T shaped couch is rubbing against something when we open it up. This is causing the leather to become ruined.

Any ideas what is happening?

Is the T shaped couch not put in correctly?
What can I put on the T shape to stop the rubbing?

Anyone have this problem? or How do I fix it?

I've never seen a 'T' shaped couch, lots of straight, J or L shaped ones. Since yours is a new coach, I'd take it back to the dealer or contact the Tiffin. It shouldn't require shims or modification by you.

It's an L shaped couch, btw. We have one and no, it does not and should not rub on anything. You are closing the short section, correct? You should be able to walk to the rear of the coach with the slide in - you can still do that right? You don't have a table sitting up against it (you folded it up and stored it, right?).

L Couch

If your slide out is rubbing on the back panel secure the light weight board to the couch frame then Velcro the outside cover to the board. We have a 2013 36LA and that is one of the first things noticed in the PDI. You may want to also check the tile floor to see if there are any bumps. Floor may not have been cleaned when tile was laid, even saw dust can create a bump. Dealer had to replace seven tiles.

You are probably not aware that the short leg requires that you disassemble the cushion & shorten it before you close the slideout. You should be able to walk to the galley & toilet unencumbered while driving and under way. No furniture should block your way.

We found the problem. We had to line up the T shape correctly before putting it into the couch. Its all new to us.

Thanks You
