Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I'm not a Tiffin guy so can't help with that. Noticed you are new on the forum and wanted to say hello! Enjoy!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

our 2012 32CA is probably very similar and has 32,700 miles on it. like most motorhomes and other rv's it needs some repairs from time to time. I've never had any problems with the Ford F53 chassis. Good luck on your purchase. Dave

Our 1st Tiffin was a 2016 32 SA. It had come with " sumo " springs. The drive was good. I know through reading the forums many folks have done suspension modifications ie Safety T-Plus stabilizer. Take a look at the screws that hold the fridge in place making sure they are sunk securely into wood not air. The only thing we didn't care for was the L shaped couch.

The 31 SA is the shorter version of the 32 SA. Queen bed instead of king and shorter bedroom counter. I believe there were two chassis choices in terms of GVWR, the 24K lb version being the heavier duty one.

We just sold our 2016 32 SA after 20K miles-worth of travel and sightseeing. Never stranded anywhere and no problems with the chassis.

Only mods we did were Koni shock and centramatic wheel balancers (for my own security) and the 5 star tune for improved transmission shifting performance. The issues we had were coach component issues. Nothing major. Last 2 issues before selling were the front air conditioner went out and the slide ram was dripping. Both replaced at the dealer in less than 2 weeks (they had to order the slide ram).

Only reason for selling was we wanted to downsize for convenience. We'll be doing more trips of shorter duration....etc.

Good coach. See if they've done the transmission flash update to fix the early 2016 shifting issues (improves tow-haul performance and downshifts). The bigger chassis gives you more load and towing capacity.

Don't put heavy stuff in the fridge doors - they stay closed well, but we did overload and have the door pop open a couple of times and get dented on the door stop until we realized what we were doing.

Good luck and happy clamping!

We had an 2017 31 SA and the difference to the 2016 is 6 speed transmission and an automotive like AC front dash which i prefer over the 2016 model year. No issues with the coach.

On the 2016 Open Road 31SA make sure you check the chassi welds underneath. Some were broken from the factory.
