We've been talking about a new Phaeton. Does Tiffin discount 30% like other manufacturers of new rigs? Thanks for the info.

I couldn’t get 30 but got 28%. We were happy with the deal and rather than walk away and try and fight over the last percent or two percent we took it.
We ordered ours and the dealer said that saved us money but who knows if that’s true.
I think if there is a lot of options there may be more room to negotiate. In our case we shopped a bit, traveled to a different state and had to wait for the build.
Some dealers would not go over 20% off but and not really liking those dealerships we just moved on rather than wasting a bunch of time.
I will say I think the Phaeton does offer a really good value.

Tiffin doesn't offer any discounts, but it's up to the individual dealers. 24-28% off MSRP is pretty much the average. As said, you may get the best deal if you special order as the dealer doesn't have to carry it in inventory.

Using one of the big three (Sherman, INgram or Davis) you should get about 28%

My wife and I got 28% when we bought a Phaeton 2-1/2 years ago, tried to get 30 or more, but this was the first year for the new 40IH model with the XSH, that we really like

29% on a newly ordered 2020 Allegro Red 37BA. Will pick it up in January. From one of the Big 3.

Or get a much larger discount by buying a 2-3 year old Phaeton where someone else took that early depreciation hit and worked out the new coach bugs for you.

about two months ago, at the local Tiffin dealer, I was waiting for some warranty work to be done so looked at new coaches. They had to Entegras on the showroom floor and had discounted one almost $300K and the other just under $200K. Now these were $500 - 700K coaches, but still, big discounts. Also makes you wonder what the markup really is. Generally see Tiffins discounted at several local RV shows during the year, too.

That's fine IF they did in fact get all the bugs worked out. Or maybe they just held on to it and sold it privately with all the bugs and more needing fixing.

That's why you have the unit thoroughly inspected and make sure you get service records.

The manufacturers typically provide a 33-35% margin as a markup. so take your calculator and look at the percentages - not the dollars. The big 3 will give you 28%....sometimes 30%. Also, they may want your trade-in for a consignment sale....the commissions run about 10%.
