Tiffin Euro-Style Recliner

I just placed a deposit and am going to pick up a new Phaeton 40 QBH net week. I have'nt seen this coach in person but have driven one identical, except for the front furniture. My floor plan comes with a recliner, TV/fireplace instead of a second coach. Last evening I came across a story in Motorhome magazine saying that the Euro-style recliner was not a very good fit for the author of the story. (He stated "The recliner, though, was not a favorite; the seating geometry and mechanism could easily be improved"). I would like to hear from some Phaeton owners that have this Euro-recliner as to how comfortable it is. All 4 previous motorhomes I've owned have had opposing couches in the front and I've been looking forward to having a recliner in my next one.

We have the recliner that came with the computer desk set up...we don't like it..one thing is it's too big for the area they put it in....you really can't sit in it comfortably and use the computer table....we plan on removing it...wish now we could have deleted it for credit...
If you want to recline in it, you have to drag it out into the living space....it's a nice chair, leather and all but not a good fit for our MH..

We have one and it is ok if your not a really big person. I am leaving the foot stool for it at home. Stool just gets in the way with the two small dogs and big cat. As usual with RV's what works for one person won't work for someone else. Dave

Thanks for the input, the chair on the one I'm buying has a foot stool attached. It comes up with a lever.

The problem with that model is the foot stool does not extend very much distance from the chair. I am 6' tall and it hits me behind my knees and that is very uncomfortable.

I I agree with what this gentleman says I'm only 511 and the chair is not a suitable fit for me either the chair is a nice chair but not for anyone it's very tall that is very tall we wish we could have had a different chair as well

We have a 2015 Phaeton and they come with a different recliner this year.

The recliner is very comfy ( I am 5'10" and hubby is 6'2"). Biggest issue is that it is very hard to move. Hard to get a grip on and awkward when we have to move it for driving and vice versa. I will take the comfort. Was starting to get better at moving it after a month on the road!

In our Phaeton, we have the chair with the footstool attached. It is very difficult to move the footstool to the fold-up position. I also find this chair to be vey uncomfortable; we are looking for a suitable replacement, but haven't found one, yet. Any ideas?

I have the old recliner that has the footstool separate from the recliner. It is better than the newer ones with the footstool attached because you can put that stool out there for taller people but the darn recliner itself is really uncomfortable. I am going to replace my recliners (2) with a Lazy Boy recliner that is comfortable to sit in - mine are not. I just visited a friend who did that and wow what a difference in comfort! It also makes the coach look more like home to me - nice!

You really will have to sit in it. My wife says it is the most comfortable recliner she has ever been in. For me (6'1") the footrest is too short, hitting me behind the knees. However with an ottoman supporting my feet, the chair is comfortable. When set up, we move ours across the hall to set adjacent to the end of the couch. It does recline back to almost horizontal. Very nice!
