Question Tiffin model nomenclature

We're searching for a used class A for full-time RVing to begin our retirement and have narrowed it down to Tiffin or Newmar. Want to stay at or under 34', if possible.

Have looked at dozens of Tiffin Open Roads online and can't figure out what the differences are in the letters after the (approx.) length numbers.

Anyone know what differentiates BA, CA, DA, GA, LA, SA, TGA, etc.?

Many thanks!

Look at the floor plan details letter designations are frequently different layout. Newmars layouts are usually numbered. We love our Ventana 3433. There are also 3412, + others.

Go to the Tiffin factory website and download the brochure of the Mh you want. Sizes and floor plans will be there.

The first letter is the floor plan and the second letter is the model of coach. The Allegro and Allegro RED are A, the Phaeton is H, the Allegro Bus is P, the Breeze is R, and the Zephyr is Z. Tiffin sometimes uses the same floor plan across several models and you can get an Allegro RED 33AA, a Phaeton 40AH, and an Allegro Bus 37AP which all have similar floorplans.

Thumbs up Model nomenclature deciphered

Thanks for all the excellent and helpful replies. Have noticed how some of the floor plans from both Tiffin and Newmar stick around for several years while others are only available for a year or two. Must have something to do with popularity on the one hand or construction issues on the other.

Sure wish the Allegro SA floor plan had been offered sooner than 2013. Those model years haven't depreciated very much yet.

Thanks again!

The hunt continues...

Own a 2012 Tga34. Really happy with floor plan and is my 2nd tiffin unit. Comfortable living for 4 people tv view and conversation.. 2 bath sinks which helps crowd control getting dressed... check it out

Do what garykk and pacwest said. Check out the floor plans and just note the ones you like or don’t like. That’s what I ended up doing across Tiffin, Fleetwood and Newmar. I’m sure the Tiffin 1st letter means something to someone but I just found it easier to make a short list.
