I see these big behemoths and the prices and find it hard to believe they can sell them to the ordinary person, with gas/diesel now over 3.00 and heading to 4.00 some time, one has to plan his travel and budget a bit more carefully. We do it by driving less, and have an older that did not break the bank.

Sounds like the dealer is using real hard nose tactics with MSRP pricing and refusing to give your credit form back. Sounds like they wanted the credit form before even negotiating which puts you on the defensive. As for their stating that they would not service MHs they didn't sell, that is an empty threat. The wonderful service will turn out to be poor anyway. The few times you will need warranty service you can drive to a dealer that will help you. Every dealer is supposed to provide service for MH brands they sell.

One thing to keep in mind with Tiffin service is that you don't have to take it to a Tiffin dealer if it's not convenient for you. Many Tiffin owners have a nearby non-Tiffin service center they are happy with. A phone call to Tiffin will getyou approved to have your coach serviced wherever it works best for you and they'll cover the warranty repair costs. Bob Tiffin just wants it to get fixed so that he has happy customers.

We purchased a 2001 Phaeton from this dealer in Davis about 6 years ago. IMO you should not worry about the service issue with them. Took us almost 2 months to take delivery because their service department only half way repaired the problems. Had to call Tiffin directly to get action on a couple of issues.

I wouldn't worry about the warranty work too much. I had an Allegro Bay with no dealer in our area. With a phone call they authorized the warranty at an independent RV repair facility near my home.

Regarding warranty issues... as the others said don't worry. many manufactures will off another repair facility to do the work as long as they are licensed and their rates are reasonble.
Your Mobile RV Repair guys can also do allot of the work, and conveniently, allot of the work can be done at your home, just ask them if they would be willing to do warranty work, some do...some don't.

All great comments.

I agree that price probably should be the driving factor. Get as much as you can off of MSRP if buying new and drive the thing. Most "issues" are minor and the other ones can be taken care of at many authorized service centers.

There is a review site here...

http://www.rvservicereviews.com/

You need to review ALL of the reviews for a particular company since the "overall rating" can be misleading. It isn't necessarily updated regularly but it gives good info. It is interesting how many reported bad service while others went above and beyond the call.

Personally, I am making "those" highlighted on my copy and am keeping it in the DP for reference/use if necessary...esp. the mobile ones.
