Tow a CRV with the Wayfarer
Has anyone towed a CRV with the Wayfarer? We are thinking of purchasing a new Wayfarer and was interested in hearing how well it will tow.

the brochures states that it comes with a 5,000lb rated hitch - but your GVCWR will determine what 'weight' vehicle you might can tow once you have you and all your stuff aboard, including fuel and some water.
I would think that a CRV(the older models since the new ones can't be towed 4-down) would be light enough to pass, but it's really weighing your coach before you try to really know for sure.

Looks like a CRV comes in at about 3400-3500 lbs. See many of them being towed by Winnebago Views and Navions, and other brands too, so I’d think you’d be good! We have towed a Scion (lighter than a CRV), a MINI Cooper (lighter than a CRV) and a Ford Escape (heavier than a CRV) .... all towed fine 4-down behind a Sprinter.
Hope it works for you. Good luck.

Just be aware, starting with the 2015 models, the CR-V is no longer flat towable without modifications because Honda went to their "new" CVT transmission. The only Honda cars that are towable now are those few that are available with manual tranny.

We just bought a new 2018 Wayfarer 24BW and towed our 2012 CRV 400 miles from Tucson to Vegas. No problems at all towing through the mountains up and down 6% grades. We towed at 65 mph and speed slowed to 50 mph going up a long 6% grade. CCC is very limited on the Wayfarer, so you have to be careful when loading. Having said that, we love the coach!

Make sure you have an adequate toad brake. A 3300 lb toad behind an 11,000 lb motorhome needs an auxiliary brake to assure stopping safely.

Yes, of course, we're using a Roadmaster Invisibrake and it works great!
