Uneven Extra Table Chairs

I have carpet under the DR table, next to ceramic tiles. When we have company and have to pull the table out and use the folding chairs, half the legs are on carpet, half on the tiles, and they tilt to the side. Uncomfortable. We have thought about carpet 'shims' under the two tiled legs, but that seems a little tacky. What are others doing?

Not sure how mine is different but to put two chairs on the same side of the table the inside chair sits on the carpet while the outer chair rests on the tile floor.

Ours is evidently different. No room for both chairs side by side. One has to straddle the carpet/tile. Thanx anyway...
