Wall switch for Fantastic Fan?

Hi all,

I bought a 2002 Phaeton last December and I haven't been able to get the fantastic fan unit to turn on using the switch on the fan housing. Is there a wall switch for this somewhere? Before I start taking it apart and start checking for bad connections, I wanted to ask if there is another switch for this unit somewhere?

Thnx,

My FF has a thermostat to turn the fan off when the temperature drops. It is on the fan frame, on one of the other corners. (One is speed, the other is thermostat. This knob can be turned all the way down and the on/off switch won't turn it on. If your fan is so equipped, turn knob the other direction. If still no power, use a multimeter and check that it is getting power. If not, then look for the fuse in coach power panel.

It may also be possible that the switch that shuts the fan off if the outside lid is down might be stuck. It's usually in the back left corner- you might see it as a little plunger if you look in that corner through the screen.

Went thru same with my 1997 Endeavor. Turns out mine has a thermostat mounted near the thermostat for the AC. Looks like a regular home thermostat. It was factory installed. Here's a pic ....look to left of mirror in red circle.

open the cover with the switch and turn on the fan then play with the controls up on the unit. if the cover will not open then you have a power problem.

Just wanted to follow-up on my post with the resolution:

I took alv3769's advice and fiddled with the controls. I needed to do four things to make it work:

1) have the vent open
2) the thermostat set properly
3) the speed set above zero
4) and the rocker switch selected to "IN" or "OUT"
