Wally Dish Receiver-Winegard In Motion Satellite

Does anyone know if the Wally Dish Receiver works with the Winegard in motion satellite while the RV is in motion? We have a 2015 35LA and our old Dish receiver box has died. The tech said that the Wally only works when stationary, but he didn't seem to know much on several other things that I knew the answer to so I don't trust his knowledge. I have also posted this on the TRVN site in hopes of getting an answer. Thank you.

I just installed a wingard roadtrip t4 satellite antenna yesterday with two Wally receivers. It worked on the drive home from the shop about 35 miles.

Yes, it works fine. We bought a Wally and swapped out the Direct tv receiver. You have to take the cover off the dish on the roof and change the dip switches to the Dish setting. Nick Brewer at Tiffin assisted with this. After calling Dish to activate things it worked like a charm. Good luck and enjoy!

Dish Wally DVR Upgrade

Buy a cheaper than Dish offers ($99 for 1TB) external portable hard drive (USB powered) and you can hook it up to the Wally. We bought a 2TB drive on Amazon for $69. When you plug it in the Wally will format it and then you have to call Dish at the number supplied on the screen to "activate" it. That's so you can pay a $40 activation fee. You didn't hear it from me but with a little sweet talking or arm twisting (your choice) you might be able to get the fee waived. Once done, the Wally becomes a simple DVR with all the pause, jump, and record functions.

Unfortuantely you cannot take the drive to a Hopper3 and copy previously recorded programs off its DVR because it has to be formatted every time you connect it to a Dish device.

There are three types of people. Those that can count and those that cannot.
