Guess the fact that SACHS is a German company who, like many global companies has manufacturing in various parts of the world. They are also the aftermarket division of ZF who you should know.

So do you want to rethink your statement?

Had Sachs on my 2015 coach as built from Tiffin (freightliner chassis).

I did have a front shock go bad (started squeaking), and replaced fronts with Koni's.

yes, I know that sachs is part of zf, but ford provides the specs for the ones they buy, as far as I know. I've always replaced oem shocks, when I buy a vehicle no matter the mfg. Just because something is from Germany doesn't make it better, even the engine in my 2011 ford ranger is built in Germany (Cologne). Dave

Not really, bought a Metabo floor standing grinder because it was German. Product arrives me a giddy, just to be disappointed by,,,,, made in China. This thing is a piece of unbalanced junk.

Me thinks they are not so good at outsourcing.

Just like German Bessy clamps, if they do not say,,, made in Germany, do not buy them. They are scrap steel.

The bright spot,, Knipex hand tools, best made hand tools on the planet bar none, 100% made in Germany. No offence Klein hand tools, you're a close 2nd.

If I wanted a 8 inch Chinese Metabo grinder, I would have bought a DeWalt.

Another tool demise the chisel, Marples made in Sheffield England is gone to Irwin/Chinia, Irwin chisels are junk steel.

Koni FSD shocks made a huge improvement on my 32 SA , yes I know we are talking DP. The OEM shocks had ford engraved on the dust cover plus Made in Mexico.
When I compared the OEM shocks compression and rebound dampening there was a notice able inconsistency.
