What Is It?

On my 2014 Tiffin Phaeton, I found this dome on the roof. Does anybody know what is under this dome?

I have a dome satellite up front. This dome is about the middle of the roof.

GPS antenna? Duct tape some alum foil over it and see what doesn't work.

Could also be wires for solar cells or wi-fi antenna connection.

It would but me so I would take it off to look at.

If not a GPS antenna perhaps someone installed a cellular amp.

Look inside your AV cabinet. If you have extra coax cables marked Travler, then that is the prewire for a Trav'ler antenna. That prewire is usually close to where the AV cabinet is located. If you don't have Trav'ler prewire, then that could be prewire for solar panels. 2014 was before Tiffin started adding prewire for the Winegard ConnecT WiFi system so it has to be either satellite or solar. If you pull the cover off the dome, it will have two coax and a six conductor wire if it's for the Trav'ler.

I have the option for a traveler satellite. The hookup is in the outside second from the rear storage bin. The coaxial connection is right next to the cable tv hookup. It was an option on my motor home.

Was this unit a rental?
I've seen semi trailers with a GPS unit to keep track of their location.

Could be the satellite radio (SiriusXM) antennae.

It is not a GPS nor a satellite radio antenna. I had three of those on my roof and they are all protective wiring enclosures for satellite TV domes, Trav'ler antenna connections, solar connections, etc.

That is for a satellite "tripod" or portable sat. connection, it is not a "pre-wire" for a Winegard (or dome) which is on the roof and then feeds into the AV cabinet.

I'm not sure when Tiffin started offering "pre-wire" for a Winegard which is under a dome as shown (I had it done on my 2015), or for wifi extenders or solar (which I do not recall being options available on my '15 gasser).

I have one "extra" roof access dome on my roof, but I assume that is for a dome factory option (which I do not have), and I'll also assume when they build the roofs they have the access points built in and it may or may not have anything in it, but have no reason to pull the conver off to look.......

On my 2014 Phaeton that was my Trav’ler pre-wire. Open it up, you will have to 3 coax cables and one control wire.
