What is that white strip under the power awning?

Greetings all:

We just purchased a new Allegro RED 37 PA. We are really happy with the first trip...and just wonder why the heck we waited so long to jump from our Itasca gas unit to this new diesel.

Pretty funny adventures in the first trip figuring out some of the bells and whistles...but getting there.

One thing I cannot figure out, is this white strip (about 1/4 inch wide) that runs the length of the main awning. If is right (below) where the awning meets the RV. There is what looks like a white power wire that connects to it..but I can't find any switches that would activate anything.

At first, I thought it might be an LED strip...but it doesn't come on with the "awning light" and I see no other switches that would trigger anything.

Any thoughts?

I think you may have your first new issue. That should be the LED light strip for the awning. It should come on when you turn on the outside light under the awning. Since Tiffin changes things model year to model year, you might have a remote that activates the light strip rather than a tie-in to the light switch. Sorry I can't be definite enough to help you with yours. A call to Tiffin would get you a definite answer.

On ours, the LED light strip turns on with the porch light switch on the Spyder control panel. Your PA should be more usable since on our QRA, the LED strip is useless. The awning is mounted above the slide out, so when the slide is out you can see about 2" of LED on each end.

Ha ha...no, not the first issue.....just the first one I couldn't figure out :-)

- No table with l-shaped couch (factory sending..they forgot)
- No caulking around bath of kitchen backsplash (easy fix)
- Refrigerator doors totally mis-aligned (will fix them next weekend)
- Passenger power chair dead - fixed wiring

Hmmm... I will try to see how if it comes on when we hit the door lights... I didn't even think of those two being connected. Thank you for the suggestion.

We have the same model and year. There is a rocker switch on the passenger console for the awning light.

OK...great. I will try that. I assumed (yes I know what happens when you do that) that the rocker switch was a second/redundant switch to the awning light switch on the panel.

Thank you..
