What is this?

I'm not sure what this Magnum Energy item is that is connected to the house batteries. Can someone explain to me what it is and what is it's function?

Might be a voltage sensing wire for the inverter.

Possible a temp sensor to prevent over charge.

Magnum Battery Temperature Sensor

It's a thermal sensing device.

This is a must-have accessory for any inverter installation if you want to be assured that your batteries get fully charged to 100%. The temperature sensor communicates with the inverter battery charger to make sure the batteries are not under charged or overcharged based on the battery temperature
