Wind noise while driving on the highway

Our coach has a wind noise that only seems to happen when it is really windy outside. I'm almost certain it's coming from the entry door. I looked at the seal and it seem okay. There is a piece of weather stripping, about a 1/2 inch wide and approximately and 1/8 to 3/8 thick. It runs down the side of the door where the hinges are. The last two feet of it came off. It seems that this must be it but I cant see that it really does anything since the thick rubber seal around the door compresses once the door is shut.

Does this sound similar to an issue you have had? How did you resolve it.

I think it's the gap itself causing the noise. Entegra solved this by putting a round fairing along the top-front portion of the door. Plus they added an extra lock that pulls the door in tighter when you take off the air brake.

Ours makes noise dependent on the wind speed, direction and if a tractor-trailer is next to us.

It’s the weather stripping. Replace any missing pieces and make sure the door is closing tight. On my 14 bus the strike on the door frame was loose. I had to trombone the entire assembly the use locktight so that the piVe that the door connects to was not loose. This then held the door tight, I did not have to SLAM the door shut anymore and eliminated a LOT of the road noise.

That little piece of weatherstripping is the key to keeping the wind noise down around the door on Busses and Phaetons. You need to replace the entire strip (and it isn't a particularly easy job). You can order a replacement from Tiffin Parts and talk to the Service dept. as to replacement procedures,
