Your Phaeton w/AquaHot performance in cold?

We're considering a couple of trips this winter that could put us in some colder temps than we've been in so far. I'm wondering what other Phaeton owners with AquaHot have experienced and what advice could you offer? I'd expect, at a minimum, to see a couple of hours at or below freezing, probably more (maybe a lot more!). We will have full hookups, except for an occasional overnight at a Wal Mart or Cracker Barrel. Does the AquaHot keep the entire basement warm or just the wet bay? Is AquaHot alone sufficient or should we supplement with small electric heaters? We've had our old 5th wheel in some petty cold weather in the past and always managed to prevent any freeze ups but this will be a new experience for us. Any advice or discussion is appreciated.

We purchased our 40AH in Montana during March. The temps got down to the low teens. We had no problem whatsoever staying warm or obtaining hot water on demand. We used the heated floors and the furnace. Nice and toasty!

Ours is not a Tiffin product, but our first experience with our AquaHot has been fantastic. The thing is a little nuclear reactor in the basement. We've camped in single digits and never had any issues. It is one of the biggest upgrades that I didn't even know I would love!

Do you feel that there may be a need for extra/auxiliary heat such as electric space heaters?

If that is in any way directed at me, then no. The AquaHot provides more than enough heat for the coach and is quiet to boot. Love it.

Does your coach have 3 zones for the AquaHot? The Phaeton has front and rear (inside the coach) and a wet bay zone, with the wet bay having its own temp control. My primary concern is the basement and wet bay.

The bay heater should be sufficient. As long as you keep the diesel switch on all the time. I would suggest if you are plugged in leave both switches on all the time. If boon docking be sure to leave diesel on and if possible have your "Gen Set" set to keep batts at 11 volts.
The bay heater thermostat usually comes preset at 45deg.
