Hi all...just bought 04 Southwind 32VS, and luv it. Other MH we looked at (Winn. S.Seer) had a long jack type handle/crank for manual slide retracting. In the PDI, we asked and were told we have to "attach wrench to square rod" under the MH Slide and manually turn from there....?? This does not ring correct w/ me...any help?? Geno P., St. Pete, FL

If you have a power gear slideout , then that would be correct. Here is a link to the manual which explains the overide. http://support.powergearus.com/techdocs/82-S0010-01.pdf

Hope this helps.

My 2002 Bounder has the powergear slideouts. The smaller bedroom slide has the long handled crank rod to manually retract it. For the large couch/dinette slide I need to use a wrench on the square drive shaft to retract the slide. On both slides I have to first manually disengage the brake on the back of the drive motors.
