I have a 2005 Fleetwood Revolution 40C. When I press Auto level or Manual level, the jacks will extend and rais the RV about an inch the stop. If I continue pusing the button (front, back, left, right) I hear a noice but nothing happens. Someone told me it may be low on fluid. I need to know where the reservoir is located so that I can check the fluid level and adjust if necessary. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a 2003 Revolution. You should find the hydraulic reservoir and "plumbing" for the jack system in the very last compartment at the rear, passenger side. I would add that, on our coach, once the jacks touch the ground, the "automatic" feature stops. The lights on our panel then will tell me which button(s) to push to begin the leveling process. At that point, I manually have to level the coach by pushing the appropriate button(s) until the light(s) goes off. I can easily feel the coach adjusting itself during this process. Once all the lights go off, the coach is supposed to be level. It is close, but usually not perfect. I then use my small hand-held level at the refer to double check the coach....and adjust it accordingly at the panel. The system takes a little getting used to. Hopefully you don't have a mechanical or hydraulic issue in the system. Good luck, and please let us know what you find out.....thanks!

I wonder when they changed over to a full automatic system? Ours is a one button operation. One button will dump the airbags, lower the jacks and level the coach. You can manually over ride.

On my 04 Revolution, turn on the leveling system & touch auto. It does everything from there. If you park on a very level spot, it will not take much movement to level. The resevoir, is on the back top right of the engine compartment. There is a dip stick that you take out to check. It should tell you what fluid to use if needed.

Good Luck!

I dunno. Dirtbuster....perhaps we have a different system. My 03 Revolution is on a Freightliner chassis with side mount radiator and Cummins 8.3 ISC. On my unit, the jack reservoir and plumbing is in that last compartment on the passenger side as I mentioned above. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the hydraulic canister, and a fill plug on the top....and no diipstick. On my unit, that reservoir with a dipstick on the top right of the engine in the engine compartment is for the power steering system and the hydraulic motor that runs the cooling fan behind the radiator. It is not part of the jack system on our MH. Not being argumentative, just trying to make sure we are talking about the same thing when trying to assist this fellow. Hope that makes sense.....

I took it to a repair shop a few weeks ago. They confirmed the fluid level is correct and still experienced the same problem I listed in th opening thread above. Autolevel starts to level the rv then stops after lifting the front and/or back around 2" then stops. After 30 seconds, the pump begins to run again but nothing happens. After a while, the pump stops and the control panel says level even though it's not level. Manual operation does not work at all. The repair shop said they talked to Power Gear Hydraulics and they say it may be the control board. However, they say the control board is obsolete and they don't offer a replacement.

Has anyone run into this issue? I thought that Fleedwood supported their RV's for at least 10 years.

Also, I still don't think it's the control panel, since the pump continues to run. I have a feeling that the pump isn't able to provide enough pressure to lift more than 2", Is it possible that a seal within the pump is busted?

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Buztan99.....don't have a lot of experience with malfunctions on this system and NO experience with the control board. But it sure sounds like you are losing pressure internally within the system. This does not mean you have a seal issue in the pump....it may be dirt or other contamination holding open one or more of the system's hydraulic solenoids and not allowing the system to pressurize properly. Perhaps this would account for the pump running (until it possibly overheats) and shutting off while not raising the coach any further due to internal bleed down. The Power Gear owner's manual speaks to the importance of clean fluid. Has the fluid in your coach ever been changed? There is a thread, including pics, on this forum that speaks to the disassembly and cleaning of the solenoids. I would sure give it a look. You might also contact Fleetwood Cust/Service for technical assistance....I have found them VERY helpful a couple times I called them. It seems probable that they have heard of this before. It's worth a call. I don't have a clue if the control board could do this, but they probably would.....

Austin,
Powergear changes the part number on their control panel all the time and even though yours is obsolete there is a replacement. I had to have a new control board replaced under warranty and Powergear had obsoleted my control panel and had a new replacement. The only difference was the pig tail connector for the control panel and control board and I got a new pig tail wire for both ends. Call Fleetwood customer service and they can provide you with the parts, the Revolution is now an American Coach product so you will get American Coach customer service and they are extremely helpful.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Heapbigengin I agree with you. I don't think its a control panel issue b/c the pump continues to run and even sounds like it's trying to pressurize but cannot. I video'd the process today and will send to Power Gear to get their input. I'll also post to my website and list the url here in case some one wants to watch and advise.

Here is a link to a video from today showing the problem. It shows the coach lifting appx. 2 inches then stops. The pump continues to run for about 2 minutes then shuts off with the panel indicating level. At this point, the RV is definitely not level. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
