I have to admit the stock one has a tremendous blind spot for me when I'm driving like when entering a round a bout as well as slow moving traffic from my left at a normal intersection where I have a yield sign and do not always come to a complete stop to check cross traffic, and worse yet pedestrians walking towards me from the left like in a cross walk.
Anyone else have this problem or better yet done anything about it to eliminate it.
I do plan on changing these mirrors out this winter and I'm open to the ideas of others.

I had the same problem with the driver's mirror on my PA 38L. The mirror, A-pillar and door frame created a large blind spot. I noticed that a passenger side mirrror was installed on the driver's side. By replacing it with a driver's side mirro, I was able to create less of a blind spot. Still not perfect, but at least better.

I agree, the mirror placement on the Pace is not the best. However, I have seen Fleetwood put two left or right mirrors on the same coach by mistake during assembly. There is a right and left mirror and you must look closely to tell the difference. If you happen to have a passenger side mirror on the dirvers side your vision will be reduced even more.

Who would have thought but then again this would be the same company that hooked the rear AC temp sensor to the front AC and the front to the rear.
I'm going to check the mirrors now, thank you both I would not have thought to look for that.
I forgot to mention before this is a 38L also.

Pete the blind spot starts from the door hinge post area all the way towards the windshield post itself with only the very smallest area (between mirror head and windshield post) to view traffic coming from my left at an intersection or round a bout and with the taller maxi mirror head I have to lean forward as far as I can with the shoulder belt when driving through a yield signed intersection to see whats in the blind spot. Over the years with larger size trucks I've had several close calls with traffic from both the left and right sides with different vehicles but same restricted field of vision so I'm kind of paranoid about it.
In the picture below which is the one I posted in the other thread it shows the minimal view area between the head and the windshield post.
In the second picture you see what the correct mirror looks like and how far away from the glass and somewhat swept towards the back of the bus.
In the third picture is one like mine and you'll see how close the mirror is to the front of the side window.
Only the first picture is mine # 2 & #3 are similar units for reference

Here is the view of the mirror using a drivers side mirror instead of the passenger side mirrror that was originally mounted on the driver side of my MH.

Even that would be an improvement the stud is mounted on the right side of the head moving it out away from the body where as with the passengers side head mounted on the drivers side it pushes the head in towards the glass.
Seeing that picture confirms in my mind I don't want to spend $400.+ for just that little gain in visibility.

Not sure of your mirror but several years ago I added on what is called a top hat third mirror and I have been very pleased with the added field of vision. I would not be without then on each side.
Google
Velvac Top Hat Add-On Convex Mirror
and you can find them. They are easy to install. Mine have been on for over 10 years.

I do like the Top Hats but the Max Head is tall enough in fact as far as vision to the rear goes you could not ask for more, but that side front vision scares the heck out of me.
Basically the same mirror heads on two of my tow trucks with out the side view situation

I have the same problem on my 2004 35G and filed a complaint with the Federal Transportation and Highway Safety Administration with no results. Fleetwood tried to solve my limited vision with the mirror by doing exactly what you are talking about, that is put a passenger side mirror on the driver's side. Wow it scare the hell out of me when I came to my first intersection and was completely blinded, so had it changed back. For me I just live with what I call a "skinny mirror".

The true dissapointment with Fleetwood regarding the two left side mirrors on 06 Pace Arrows is the attitude of the current owners. After discovering that I had two left side mirrors on the coach I called Fleetwood to find out why - explained to the receptionist the whole bit about the very limited, very dangerous view when turning left. I asked to speak to someone who could talk about the problem - specifically be sent the correct mirror. I was basically told that is "an issue for the former owners. The new owners have no responsibility in the matter." I asked to speak to someone in management and was told that there was no one to talk to. I wrote a letter to the Chariman of the Fleetwood Board and did not receive the courtesy of a response. It's discouraging that the organization has allowed such a loss in customer relations.
I was able to pick up additional viewing area by adding a 1/2" shim at the base of the arm. Probably gained 1/2" additional viewing area between the mirror and the post.
Has anyone else tried to discuss the issue with Fleetwood?

It's probably just as well you didn't get to talk with anyone. I was allowed to talk with "Bryan" about Fleetwood installing the wrong awning on my 2005 37C and was told the same thing as you. "Your coach was not built by the new Fleetwood sir. We can not help you."
Keep calling them and asking to talk with someone in engineering or customer service. If you are persistent you will finally get someone that will tell you the part number and possibly even the vendor where they purchase their mirrors. Then you can at least buy one direct from the vendor.
GOOD LUCK!

The mirrors are made by Velvac and even if you get the correct mirror for it installed the visibility problem while being improved ever so slightly will not really help or cause the problem to be eliminated.
It's a design flaw pure and simple and they evidently do not want to talk about it which is why I'm trying to do something with mine. At the moment it's all completely wrapped in plastic while the slides are being painted with matching body stripes. I'll be starting on the mirror problem in the very near future once the paint work is completed.
Since I've never got an answer as to what may be behind the skin in the area I want to mount the mirror it's going to be time to drill an exploratory hole. I may drill this hole on in the inside panel so I can cover it with something like a cup holder which I would not use, a flashlight mount which would be a very poor choice, or a brake indicator light for the toad, or something else along that line.

???
They derive all the benefits of name recognition to generate sales, but pass off something they don't want to deal with to 'former owners'?
