12 Volt Source For New Rear Camera

Hello All:

I need help identifying a 12 volt circuit in the engine compartment of my Cummins 5.9 L 24V ISB that is switched with the ignition that I can tap to power a new digital rear view camera. I don’t want to use an unswitched 12VDC circuit to avoid battery drain and the need to switch the camera manually.

Any ideas?

The old camera very likely has a 12volt feed going to it. Are you replacing the old camera or augmenting it?

Not familiar with your coach. On mine, there is a wire on the alternator which is controlled by ignition. Pull out electrical schematics and see if you see that.

My coach (I think all Country Coaches) has a pair of spare wires from dash to the battery bay. I use that to control a few things per ignition. One of them is the backup camera.

Do you have a rear start switch for the engine? I used that source for my TPMS system
