When you are traveling, with the the switch in the travel position, the radio draws power from the chassis battery just like your car does.
When you are parked, with the switch in the park position, the radio draws power from the house batteries.
This is so that when you are parked for an extended period the radio won't drain your chassis battery and leave you with no way to start the engine.

Thanks a bunch for the reply very quick.
As you can probably tell we are VERY NEW to RVing so that was probably a stupid question...
Can yo tell me how to turn on the clear light on the drivers side up high. I am not abel to find a sw that operates that light. (Strange)

Thanks

Likely that the "map light" is controlled by your headlight switch, just like a car. Try twisting your headlightlight switch stem.

If you are speaking of the outside light high on the side of the motorhome, it is turned by a switch on the dash labeled "utility light". That switch also turns on a light under the hood (so to speak).

If you can't get the light to come on, check to see if the bulb is good.

Well thanks to all for the assistance.
The sw on the dash that is labeled hood ligh also does turn on th side light.

Our Bounder is as the title states a 1990 1/2 not sure what the half is all about it is the ford chassis I think it is a F53 chassis. It does have the banks power pack system installed seem to fo really well for as large as it is.
I have added a deeper trans pan as well as a larger diff cover to keep the operationg temp reduced as well. I also added an aux fan for the new radiator I had installed,(Boy Was that EXSPENSIVE) Replaced all the belts, batteries etc.
So no I think we are ready for our madien voague.
Any other things (I'm sure I have forgotten something)any one may think of as far as power train mods I may need to do.Oh yes had all the trans & diff fluids changed to synthetic fluids as well as added water wetter to the cooling system.Engine oil syentic 10w30.

Hope I have done all my home work so no surprises whan we get wherever it is were going.
