1995 Bounder

We are looking at possibly buying a 1995 Bounder 34 J. It is in immaculate condition. It has 43,500 miles on it and has been garage kept at least the last 11 years. The only thing is it needs all new tires. The treads are good but they are the same tires that were on it when he bought it in 2005. Yikes...I would be afraid to even drive the 3 hours back to our house on those. He wants 11,900 for it. I think it's probably a little steep according to the NADA price and because the tires need replaced.

What kind of price would you offer knowing the tired need replaced?

I bought a 98 Pace Arrow 3 years ago and its tires were about the same condition as you mention the Bounder has. I didn't even drive my MH for about a month before I got new tires at a tune of around $2500.00 at a local tire dealer. I paid $15,000 for my MH, probably a little high, but in line with what NADA stated. If it is a little steep according to NADA I'd certainly offer what you think is in line. Another fact to consider is no matter how good of condition it is in, you in all likelihood will have unknown costs for repairs. I've spent over $5500.00 in repairs since I purchased my MH. Things like the fan belts, radiator hoses, etc. may be things that still may original.

High book is $11800 and low book is $9800. You are no doubt looking at $1700 - $2500 in tires. Look the unit over very good. If you are a newbie then find someone who has experience. Possibly an RV tech, although that will cost you. At least he can be unbiased. Without seeing it I'd offer $9000 with the reason being it MUST have new tires. I'd go higher but personally I would not exceed $9500.

The owner of the MH actually got an estimate for tires locally where he lives because I wouldn't drive it far due to the tires. 1800-2000 for good name brand tires.

My buyer for our bunkhouse didn't follow through on it because he couldn't get a loan due to bad credit. So I'm not going to be buying this one.

If the deal ever returns do your own tire research. While that price seems reasonable, you don't want to get a tire you're not content with.

Good luck selling yours.
