1996 Bounder 34J
Today we are going for our second trip and test driving the RV that we think, after 1+ years of looking and waiting, is OUR new home on wheels!!!
She is very mature, but has had a complete overhaul inside and out and everything mechanical including a new Jasper transmission!
Anyone owning a Bounder 34J preferably around 1996 that can chime in and tell us your experiences, good or bad, we would love to hear it.
After being very cautious and wary, kicking tires (and checking DOTs [emoji12])
We are ready to take the plunge!!!!
Thanks in advance,
Theresa

We have had our '99 for almost two years now and we love it. Lots of short trips and we plan a cross country trip starting in April. A few minor repairs and upgrades, but all in all, very satisfied. It really depends on how well the previous owner maintained the unit. Chuck

Ours is a 2000 Bounder and we love it. Also some minor fixes and some interior mods just to make it ours. After looking at new ones at the recent RV show, we still like our old girl.

That coach, weather on a Ford or Chevy chassis, will have very little cargo caring capacity. Do not anticipate travailing with a full fresh water tank (100 gallons @ 833lbs).
I own a 95 Bounder 32H on a Ford chassis and have to watch my weight closely. You will have to be more conservative than me, with a 2 foot longer coach. All the specs for the coach will be inside the two closet doors.

Well, we did it!!!
She's sitting in front of our house now.
We had an inspection, took it for a test drive before purchasing, but still had one weird issue (that the owner decided to disclose after we had done ownership transfer)......
You must start, then shut off and then turn key to put into neutral, restart the engine while holding the shifter up between neutral and reverse, then you may shift engine into drive. Without this procedure you cannot shift engine into drive.
We have an appointment this week for a separate recall issue that was never taken care of and they will look at this too. But just curious if anyone else has had any issues of this type?!?!
Thanks!
Theresa
PS we love her so far, idiosyncrasies and all!!!

We had a 1996 36' Bounder on the Ford chassis. The 460 motor is notorious for leaking manifolds. Best investment we ever made on it was to install a complete Banks system. Think I got it on sale for $2300.

Your issue would probably have something to do with stop light failure.
