Got our Sat Dish mounted on the pole at our property. Ran the cable to the Sat connector at the rear of the coach where you hook every thing up. Pushed every button on the control box up front cannot get Sat TV. I hooked it direct to the Set and it works great 95% signal. What am I missing to make this work? 1996 Pace Arrow Vision 35W.

If it works when directly connected but not through the coach cabling...

1. Can you "tone" with a tester from the coach cable entry point to your switch box?

2. Is your switch box good? If you are not sure, bypass it and connect the cable that would go to the switch box (for the SAT) to your TV via a manual splitter. Does this work?

3. If #2 works, it might be the switch box and you are certainly getting the signal from outside through your coach cabling to the switchbox point.

Some switchboxes are powered but that is for the over-the-air TV antenna and not the coax cable.

You will have to check the connection at the rear and make sure the cable is connected inside, if it is then go to the entertainment center and check for loose or not connected coax. If you can not find anything you might try and ohm the cable at the rear connection. Jump the center to the outer brade or thread at the rear (make sure all power is off) go up to the switch box inside and remove one cable at a time and check the center and outer with a ohm meter. You should find the correct cable to the rear input, from there connect to sat box.

I've rung all the cables out and they are okay. My issue seems to be with the Control Box with the push buttons to switch from one to another. Oh and by the way the guy that own this before me. It looks like he had been switching wires. I don't have any paper work for this box. Nor do I have anything from Fleetwood that explains how to use it. Or where each cable connects. The cables are marked also. But the cable for Sat in does not have a spot on the Control Box that tells from Sat in. The only spot left is Aux; don't know if that's it. Does anyone have some kind of literature or diaphragm? I'm guessing that most of these are generic. It is Black with 8 gold buttons covering TV 1, VCR and TV 2. Or can learn me how to hook my Dish so I can watch Nascar?

If your control box has a built in amp for the over air ant...thats your problem. Are you making your connection where you normally connect cable? Mine will not work this way. I have to run the cable thru a window to the AUX on the back of the box and it works fine.

Wow!! Let me see. When you get to my age it takes awhile to understand how I did it. I will study it more tomorrow and see if there is a simple way to explain it. But some of what I did was the following, Remove Black Box with pretty gold push buttons. And the VCR we don't use tapes any way. I installed a DirecTV receiver and a small one disk DVD player in its place. Install signal amp on end of line at the front that is the Sat feed from rear of coach. All the cables in this Coach are RG 59 and I think there is a loss of signal. I'll check all this closer in the morning so I don't miss lead anyone. But by doing it this way when I'm hookup to Dish you put TV on channel 3 and use Dish remote. If you don't have Dish you turn off the Dish receiver and use the remote for the TV. Just remember when you go back to Dish put the TV back on channel 3. This way you can have any TV on Dish and watch the other TV's off the roof antenna or Dish at the same time. Both the feeds come through the Dish receiver. I have to look at how I tied the 2 other TV's in. And maybe I can figure how to post some pictures. This set up may not work on newer coaches. I don't know but it works great on mine and I don't have that cable through the door or window. And I don't have to have a switch. Or flip flop any cables to go roof to Dish.

Thks John. I understand what you did. The only time I have to run the cable thru the window is if trees, etc block my roof unit, then I use the dish on the tripod.
