GM used a good transmission in this coach. They were mostly trouble free. If you keep the fluid changed and the fluid level correct, they will run trouble free for years. If you do get into a problem with shifting, Use Lube Guard. I had several transmission guys tell me it was a great additive. I was buying some from O'reilly Auto parts and the parts guy said that Aamco transmission dealer bought it by the case from them.

I have a 1998 Southwind 32V and transmission has never been an issue. However the auto brake hydraulic brake system has failed causing transmission fluid to leak from the parking brake control unit. When this happens the motorhome will not move due to auto brake lockup.
