An air brake system has two air tanks, the red and green needles show the air pressure in each tank. When pressure is less than 60 psi in either tank, the alarm will sound and you shouldn't drive the vehicle. With the engine running pressure should build within 2-3 minutes and the alarm will shut off. (The parking brake usually won't release if the pressure is less than 40 psi) Both tanks should show about the same PSI, if one tank is lower than the other, it's sign that something is leaking. It could be a brake line, air spring, etc. and should be checked and repaired.
If one of the tanks is bleeding down within 5-10 minutes of engine shut down, it's sign that it's a pretty good leak.
