1999 bounder battery

Hello everyone, New to class A camping. I have a couple of questions. When I have the camper hook to 120 v current, do i leave the kill switches for both battery system on to charge ? And second question,I been looking for the location of the converter.

Thanks Bill

You definately want to leave the coach batteries connected as you need that 12 volts to run interior lights and control the thermostat and other systems. When plugged into 120, your converter keeps the coach batteries charged.

Your coverter should be close to the coach batteries and the Battery Control Center (BCC), which is where the circuit board and fuses are for the 12vdc system.

Not all RV systems are alike, but generally similar in operation. All MHs should charge the chassis and coach batteries when the engine is running. Not all MHs charge the chassis battery when plugged into 120 vac. You need to determine this with your particular coach. If you don't have a manual, you can test this easily with a volt meter. If you don't have one, you need to get one if your going to own an RV.

When plugged in, you should have around 13.6 v at the coach batteries. If you have less than 13v on the chassis battery, then your system wasn't set up for that.

Your chassis battery disconnect is probably there for storage purposes. If your system does charge the chassis battery when plugged into 120vac (shore power) you do not want to disconnect it.
