Hi guys, I'm we're new to the forum and are picking up a 2000 American Tradition 40tvs tomorrow. At the end of the month we'll be heading out to FT

Has anyone owned one of these and have you had issues we should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance!

Penny & Rick

Yes I have one. We did have problems when we first got it new. You will find that AC added a brace to the front jack. There have been a few problems with the exhaust manifold leaking. cummins has issued a bulletin about the lift pump failing by using Ultra low sulphur fuel. The fix is a five dollar gasket. There is a American Coach forum at Yahoo that is great for information. You can contact me direct with any questions gwessel@cass.net I do all my own service. Location is dundee Michigan. American coach will do repairs free at ACA rallies. Go to American Coach Association.com Also there is a FMCA american coach chapter. Both groups are very helpful. AC is great with after service. Even if you drop in at Decatur Indiana the factory service. Up to 6 items most free also at the rallies. check your tire age. If original be ready to replace. I had a fuel pump that had a bad coupler on the main pump. This caused white smoke upon starting. Contact me or the AC forum on yahoo and you will get many good answers and help.

If it has any dark colors on the exterior, keep a close eye on them for "checking", tiny cracks in the surface of the fiberglass. A lot of American and Monaco products suffer from this cosmetic malady and the repair is expensive.
