2000 Bounder 39Z Fog Lights - LED Upgrade

Greetings:

The stock fog light bulbs on a 2000 Bounder 39Z are Wagner 35 Watt halogen sealed beam bulbs - 4 1/2 inch diameter by 2 inch deep. The bulbs are mounted in a rubber cup that bolts thru the fiberglass skirt with a single bolt.

I just upgraded my stock (dim) 35 watt halogen bulbs with bright white 21 watt ( 75 watt equivalent) LED bulbs from m4products.com.

HUGE difference!

The steps and bulb specs are provided below.

Good luck!

Steps:

To remove or replace the bulbs- working under the rig and behind each fog light:

1. pull the wires from the loom and cut the wires right at the crimp connector;

2. loosen and remove the nut and washer from the single bolt;

3. push the bolt forward

4. grab the black rubber cup and bulb assembly from the front and remove the assembly from the recess in the fiberglass skirt

5. Take the rubber cup- bulb assembly to a workbench

6. Pry the large dome shaped washer off the back of the cup

7. Gently pry the bulb out of the cup - it sits in a recess behind the rubber lip of the cup - use 2-3 screwdrivers or small tire irons if you have them

8. You may need to heat the cup to soften it and/or lubricate the edge of the lip to get the bulb out- I used electricians silicon wire pulling gel - Vaseline or WD-40 would work too

9. Disconnect the wires from the brass lugs on the back of the bulb

10. Reverse steps using replacement 21 Watt- 75 Watt equivalet LED bulb speced below

11. This bulb has 3 wires for HI and LOW beam- use the common (ground) and HI wire if your rigs like mine with a 2 position switch (ON and OFF) and just 2 wires
