2001 31w Bounder Slide Retract (Drivers side)
Was out last weekend and an ugly issue reared it's head again. When packing up we did our typical cleanup and then at the end brought the slides in. No issue from the bedroom closet slide but the front of the living room slide was hitting the moulding above the battery door. This has happened before and I adjusted the mounting bracket for the slide to the slide rails up a bit. The problem went away for a year and a half. Its back again but there is no more adjustment. I am wondering if there is a second adjustment that I should be looking at. What does the slide, slide on? Is there something underneath the slide that can be adjusted to raise just the front of the slide, 2mm-3mm? I circled the area where the slide hits the frame for the top of the battery door. Has anyone had an issue with this?

We had the same exact unit with the same exact issue. A local Mobile RV repair guy, and friend, adjusted the same adjustment as you did. Ultimately we ended up solving the hitting issue and extremely slow in and out movement by replacing some of the rollers.
Hope this info helps.

Did the rollers solve both issues?

It did resolve our issues. We ended up having to let a tech do it for us. We had to jack up the slide to remove the pressure from the rollers before they could be replaced.

Did you do the plastic ones or the metal ones or both? Front or Back etc?

It has been over a year now but I'm pretty sure we used the plastic/rubber ones. We replaced some on both front and rear but not all of them. I do recall that one of the inner rollers on the back was the worst.

Were you jamming in the rear or the front. I seem to have the issue where the front is hitting and not the back. Do you know where you got the parts from? Online or the Store? Thanks for your help BTW!

I was jamming in just the front. The person who helped me, or i helped him, is a mobile RV repair guy. I believe he ordered the parts from Fleetwood but i cannot swear to that.

So I got under there tonight and 2 - 3 of the wheels we're not even touching the rail for the slide. Guess I'll be looking for new parts.

Wish you were closer. I'd hook you up with my guy. I'll just give you a heads up that you will want to be sure you have the correct P/N's and rail measurements. My guy was amazed to find out that they were all different than what he had researched. Call Fleetwood and give them your VIN and Fleetwood number and they should be able to get you info on your slide system. Some are different. I no longer own it so all the info I had is now gone. I'll be gone for a few days but I can check with my guy and see if he still has any of the information like part numbers if you think it would help. Can't promise that he still has it but I can try.

My Southwind has similar symptoms, seems like its dragging when I extend it. I don't see any obvious roller damage. what made you decide to replace the rollers, and did you see and damage/wear on the old rollers?
My slide is a Power gear electrical.

Mine was Powergear also. Powergear is now owned by Lippert. In the transition many files were lost so obtaining info for some years (mine was a 2001 and that was lost) were lost. My tech ended up ordering many more parts than were actually required for the job. He wanted to be sure once he got into it. Because mine was going in and out very slowly we initially took the motor out and had it tested. It was fine. That lead him to believe that it was binding some where. We did do a super cleaning job of the rails hoping it was something as simple as a build up of slide lubricant. No dice there either. At that point the rollers became suspect, but he ordered an entire rebuild kit. He also spoke in person to some Lippert techs.

^^ Seems like where I'm at. Motor is OK, gears all look good and are clean and lubed..
I looked at the rails and rollers when the slide was out, but never looked at them when the slide was in. OK, looks like I need to take a peek and see what I can see... Any other thoughts???

I solved my slide problems by replacing the plastic rollers with ball bearings. Go to post 36 in this thread http://www.irv2.com/forums/f107/35h-...-301355-3.html also read post 39
